La Santa
The location: La Santa, 222 Glenwood Ave #107, Raleigh, NC 27603
The guests: Brian, Derick, Jenny, & Jessi
The order: 3 ACPs and one chicken fajitas with extra chicken
The review: 3/5
Let's get into it:
- Parking? Easy. La Santa is in the Glenwood South area. Easy to get to and plenty of on-street parking along Glenwood on a Monday evening.
- Dining room? We arrived around 8:30, and had no trouble getting a table in an almost empty restaurant. We had some business to attend to while there, so we appreciated the quiet dining room, but if you are looking for a lively scene, try a different night.
- Servers? Polite, friendly, courteous. No complaints.
- Chips and salsa? Delicious. Chips were warm when brought out, which is always a bonus. Otherwise, standard.
- Queso? Of course. Creamy and delicious. We also got an order of queso fundido. Normally, this is served on a piping hot skillet, and you have to eat quickly before the cheese burns to the skillet. However, here, it was served in a bowl, which was nice to maximize ability to scoop on chip without being stuck to the skillet.
- Ordering? ACP wasn't on the menu, much to our worry, but our server assured us they had it and we could order it, so it was easy to stick to our usual order.
- Food service? The food came out quickly and piping hot.
- Food quality? Honestly, we all found the chicken to be slightly dry, both in the ACP and in the fajitas. This was disappointing because everything else was so good. The ACP was loaded with enough queso - no skimping there. The queso was delicious, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the portions were a good size.
All in all, a decent place. Not one of our top recommendations, but good quality and a great environment. We personally enjoyed all of the decor in the restaurant, and have no complaints on the service.

What's the verdict -- will we go back? Sure. Jessi works close by, so the location is easy and convenient. We will certainly give the chicken another try as well!
